Years back, a fellow mediator friend visited home and stayed with us for a few days. One day, after another home-cooked meal, he jokingly said,
“Dialogue den should instead have been Dialogue Café!”
I laughed.
Because, come on, here I was trying to build a mediation practice, and all he could talk about was the food I was making. Looking back now… maybe he saw something I didn’t.
Then, years after, came Harsh.
Who knew life would first bring us together, and then bring us joy in the form of a little human, baby Ahana, who looks exactly like him? Imagine finding the love of your life, and then holding a tiny version of that same love in your arms. Two Harshs.
Sometimes I still sit in awe of how life redeemed itself after 33 years of what I thought life was supposed to be.
This is life. This is my blessing.
Harsh, ex-Acturary, has always been a health coach at heart. He’s thoughtful (& strict) about what we eat, how much we sleep, what we think, and the little habits that quietly shape our lives. My own health has definitely changed for the better since he came into my life. (He resolved my autoimmune condition, with a help of functional medicine practitioner)
Then pregnancy happened. Cravings joined the party.
At times, unstoppable cravings. Let’s blame the little Harsh growing inside me.
During the months when nausea was at its peak, curd and oranges became my closest friends. One evening, Harsh strained some curd into hung curd, added grated dark chocolate, mashed banana for natural sweetness, and handed me a bowl.
It was simple. It was comforting. It was delicious. There– we had cracked those pregnancy cravings.
Fast forward to 6 months postpartum. After almost 8 months away from the kitchen, I finally found a quiet afternoon while Harsh was busy playing with Ahana. A recipe popped into my mind. I searched for a few ideas, mixed together the ingredients, and quietly placed the bowl in front of him.
He took one bite. “I love this.”
So I made another flavour. He loved that too.
Then, after another bite, he looked up, smiled, and said, “We should launch this. Bring this for more people to try…”
And just like that, another unexpected chapter began.
Today, Harsh and I are delighted to share a little piece of our home with you— Harsh’s HungCurd Creamery.

If you’re in Bangalore, we’d love for you to try our handcrafted HungCurd Creations. Ask for a sample, have a look at our menu, or simply order yourself a cup.
And starting this Thursday, you’ll also find us at 3 Sparrows in Kengeri, Bangalore. If you’re nearby, do walk in, give it a try.
Who knew that a joke about Dialogue Café would one day become a tiny part of this story?
All said and done, I’m still practising as a Mediator, doodling mediation stories through Ameecable Comics, and writing at ameedharamshi.com.
Turns out, life simply found room for one more chapter… and this one just happens to be delicious. 😊
PS: Harsh is an integrative health coach, and helps reverse pre-diabetes, checkout his work here – www.harshmota.com.
